  1. IT doesn't really show that he has a low IQ just because of his spelling. Spelling doesn't show how smart you are. He shows us that Charlie can not spell very well. I don't think its ok because they dont know everything and they can really mess it up.

  2. He spells stuff wrong, but that isn't the way you can thell he has a low IQ. The way you can tell he has a low IQ by the way he phrases his sentences. He doesn't say things like a grown man. He talks like a little kid. The way the auther shows and not tells about charlie having a low IQ is by his use of conventions and sentence fluency.

  3. I think the writing used in the story shows his low IQ because almost all the words are miss spelled and sometimes not even very close. I dont think its right for doctors to opriate on ANYBODYS brain just because they have a low IQ because everybodys smart in their own way and low IQ should not effect what anybody thinks of them.

  4. Q1)the writing in "Flowers for Algernon" shows that Gordon has a low IQ because most of the words are misspelled on perpose showing that gordon isnt very edicated in writing.
Q2)i dont think it is okay for doctors to operate on your brain if they think you're not very smart because its not the brain that isnt smart its just tha lack of edication and the doctor might accidently change something importand in you're brain.

  6. The writer spells things wrong and uses sentence fragments to show that charlie gordon has a low IQ. I think doctors should be able to work on your brain if you want to, but if not then no leave your brain alone.

  7. How I can tell that charlie gordons hand writingis because he spells all his words wrong and not the right way. It is not ok for the docters because if they do they might mess something up and make him like a vegie.

  8. The writing in Flowers for Algernon shows that Charlie Gordon has a low IQ by having him misspell a lot of words that are usually fairly easy to spell. The author shows and dosnt tell by showing the words that Charlie Gordon mispells instead of just saying 'Charlie Gordon misspells a lot of words.'

  10. He has a slow IQ because of the way he spells. No, it is not okay for doctors to operate on your brain. Its like experimenting.

  11. You can tell that Charlie Gordon has a low IQ because he does not spell right and he doesn't use the right grammer. The writter manipulates the writting trait of convention. He SHOWS us that he cannot spell instead of TELLING us. I think that the only time anyone can opperate on someone else is if they want it to happen. I would be very surprised if someone just came up to me and said "Ok! We're going to opperate on you now."

  12. The writting traits show that Charlie has a low IQ because the spelling is really bad. You can barly read and understand it. The writer is changing his word choice and conventions. He plays around with the spelling in the words.
It is not okay for doctors to operate on your brain because they think you arn't smart. You can't fix someones Iq.

  13. The writing in Flowers for Algernon shows that Charlie Gordon has a low IQ by showing not telling the words that he misspells-words that are fairly easy to spell.
I think that if you want doctors to work on your brain and your aware of the dangers, then they can, but if you don't want them too, then they shouldn't.

  14. In the book "Flowers for Algernon" it shows that Charlie Gordon has a low IQ by showing the letter that he wrote in his journal. In the letter that Charlie wrote there wre many spelling errors so I guess that is why I think the doctor is trying to figure out what is wrong with his brain. I think the word traits that manipulate to show us is the word choice and convention.
I think it is not okay for doctor to operate your brain if they are thinking that you are not smart because it dosen't matter if you are smart, I think it only matters if you can understand what the person is trying to say and to write. It dosen't matter if you get the word wrong.

  15. In the Book " Flowers For Algernon " it shows that Charlie Gordan has a low IQ from the writing that he wrote. For example when he wrote report, he will mispell it and put riport instead of report. The writing traits that he use to show us rather than tell us is word choice and convention.

I think it is not okay for a doctor to operate your brain just because your not smart, but sometimes you do need a operation on your brain because something might be wrong with your brain.

  16. First of all he spells most of his words incorrectly. You can barely understand the words that he uses. The author manpulates the writting trait of convention. I think it is ok for doctors to opperate on your head, but only if you agree to the process.

  17. In Flowers for Algernon you can tell that the character has a low IQ because of the way he spells. The author put a lot of mistakes to show and not tell that he a low IQ. Yes, people are allowed to operate on your brain. Most of the time you're awake when you have your brain worked on because there's no nerves by your brain.

  18. It shows by Charlie spelling in the book is off and by reading the book you can tell that he is not so smart.

It is pretty smart for doctors to work on your brain because there is a reason why they are doctors so,yes I think it is good if they work on your brain.

  20. 1)It shows that Charlie has a very low IQ because in his writing a lot of the words are misspelled. But the way he writes, it's like he sounds out the words. So his IQ isn't SO low.
2)I think that it may be okay with doctors to operate on peoples brains if the family of the person who has a low IQ is ok with them doing the operataion.

  21. Charlie's writing was portrayed bad because the auther wanted to show the reader that Charlie's IQ wasn't very high. I still don't think that labotomies are neccessary

  23. 1) The author shows that Charlie does not have a high IQ by the incorrect spelling and grammar usage in the text. 2) I don't think that doctors should opperate on someone's brain because they think that person isn't smart. There are different types of smarts and intellegence, so a simple opperation might not be the best idea. Sometimes, the best way to sharpen someones intellegence is to work with them.

  24. The writing in the book "Flowers For Algernon" show that Gordan has a low Iq through the misspelling in his writing, which he did on purpose to give us thee effect that the character Gordan isn't too bright. The writer also has Gordans thoughts kind of scatterd becuse it makes reading Gordans writing really difficult because it is not very fluent. The writer is manipulating the sentence fluency, and conventions. As it stands right now, I'd prefer it if doctors did not operate on my brain if they thought I was stupid, but I am not in the same position as some people who might want there brain to be operated on.
